The Main Event

The Main Event

We finally had our FIRST ADVENTURE DAY as a group on September 2nd, 2023! We called it The Main Event (“Glavniot Hastan”)! Our intent was to lead and equip Macedonian 16-19 year old young ladies to become women of character, integrity, strength and wisdom, who in turn will be women who lead with a strong, loving, Godly life, becoming a beacon of light for the next generation, no matter where they reside in life.

I took the group to “Auto Dambo” – a full auto service shop near Skopje.  My buddy, Slavcho, who is our group ATV guide when we ride, owns the auto service and he agreed to train the girls on how to charge a dead car battery and how to change a flat tire! It was a very successful day and the girls LOVED IT.  (I have some pictures attached for your enjoyment!)

At the end of the training, we talked about “what the world says about it” vs. “what GOD says about it.”  The world says things like:  “Awwww ..girls can’t change a flat tire” or “I’ll just call someone to help me” or “I’ll figure it out later when it happens” or they just don’t think about it at all.  What does GOD say about it? Proverbs 24:5 – “A wise man is full of strength and a man of knowledge enhances his strength” – meaning when you learn, you have more strength to do what needs to be done instead of always relying on others, and you have more strength to help others!

Proverbs 22:13 “The sluggard says, ‘There’s a lion outside! I shall be killed in the streets!‘” – meaning, quit giving excuses and don’t be lazy! LOL  Also at the end of the training, The Main Event gave each girl a set of car battery jumper cables and work gloves!  What a surprise it was for them!

The girls truly enjoyed the day and thought Slavcho’s training was awesome.  Slavcho was also very blessed by the whole thing.  Never had he been asked to train like that and he truly enjoyed it and blessed us with his knowledge and shared his talents!  Everyone was blessed!!

All except one of the girls that were in attendance go to my church.  This one girl has asked about God and also wants to go to the youth group! Rejoicing over this!

The PARENTS of these girls are so happy with The Main Event!  They are in “delightful shock” seeing pictures of their DAUGHTERS working on cars! They cannot believe it.

We have other character and development events scheduled. We might do “Car Part 2” training on security/emergency matters or “Leadership” development!  For this round, I will be the trainer on either one we decide to do.

Also, my co-leader, Maria (23) for The Main Event had recently asked me to be her life mentor and teach her the Bible, starting from Genesis 1:1!  AND…. she will be getting BAPTIZED! Yippee!

SO blessed by this!  I hope the Ends of the Earth Cycling Crew and those who attended the 2018 Carolinas Bike Ride are SO BLESSED and encouraged too!  God is always with us even when all the other pillars, columns, mountains seem to be falling around us all over all the world!!  THANK YOU !!
