Not a bicycling tour – Come experience the awe of God’s creation with us in the high Appalachian Mountains (#WMBT2025)! Enjoy the hospitality of the Appalachian Mountain Club’s remote huts and worship with us each morning on the mountaintops. This is a strenuous 4-day, 24-mile, 8,400-foot-gain, backpacking trek across the Pemigewasset Wilderness of the White Mountains National Forest from Franconia Notch to Crawford Notch.
This backpacking adventure will challenge you. While we will be carrying a slightly lighter pack than you may be used to (15 – 20lbs – no tent or kitchen items needed), the terrain and weather of the White Mountains make this a challenging trek for even the most seasoned backpackers. You may encounter sunny weather around 60-degrees F or rain and sleet as low as 40-degrees F. You will climb thousands of feet each day and hike over some of the tallest peaks of the Eastern USA on rock.
This adventure will change lives. You will raise support for our amazing beneficiary in the months and days leading up to the trip, perhaps even on the trek, and certainly in the weeks following the trek as you tell tales of your adventure. God will use you to resource and advocate for global youth. On the backpacking trek, you will PRAY, TREK, REPEAT for four days, lifting our beneficiary in prayer to our loving God. In the huts, you will spend hours with others from around the US, Canada and even the world who will want to hear about you and what brought you to the Appalachian Mountains and the AMC huts.

We are hiking for our partners, Word of Life in Mexico. At their our Bible Institute they prepare, teach and train students for the field, to reach every generation for Christ. The Local Church Ministry (LCM) department focus is to provide local Churches with youth program resources and leadership training. Their summer camps focus on sharing the gospel of Christ with thousands of teenagers. Help us meet the needs of these youth and #PrayTrekRepeat for the youth of Mexico.

The majority (90%) of all donations goes directly toward impacting youth served by our beneficiary in this county, in Jesus’ name. The remaining funds (10%) support with the administrative costs for our parent organization, New International, a not-for-profit which, in all honesty, helps us do what we do even better. Tax deductible receipts and year end giving statements are provided to all tour participants and donors. Find our more about our financial transparency and accountability standards on our About page.
Are you, or someone you know, in your teens or twenties, interested in participating in this event, but having difficulty paying the registration fee? We may be able to help. Click below for more information and to apply for funding through the Paul Norton Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Arrive in Boston (BOS – Boston Logan International Airport) for pickup. We will transport you and your things to our host church. Lunch & Dinner is your responsibility.
We are welcome to stay the night in the host Church (on your air mattresses) or you are welcome to get a hotel on your own (a hotel and transportation to/from is your responsibility).
Take part in our afternoon Orientation. It is very important that you are present for the orientation. You will receive the official Ends of the Earth Hiking swag. Meet the tour director and your companions for the hike. Get the safety brief and other vital information from our crew and beneficiaries. Dinner is provided, and we will eat together.
Rise early and board the vans for our trip to the Trailhead. Lunch will be out of your own pack (your responsibility) at the trailhead.
This is a moderate hike for the White Mountains entirely along the Greenleaf Trail. It is shorter, but there is a lot of elevation gain in the short distance since the trek is entirely upward out of Franconia Notch to the shoulder where the Greenleaf Hut sits below the summit of Mt. Lafayette. The trail is entirely in the trees with few views except the traverse of Eagle Pass. The trail through the pass sits at the bottom and against the rock buttress of Mt. Lafayette and offers views of rock formations and the Cannon Cliffs and Kinsman Range.
Be sure to arrive by 6:00 pm sharp for a warm dinner provided by the Cru at the hut and enjoy a bunk bed each night in the Huts.
The Numbers –
A hot breakfast will be served by the AMC hut Cru at 7am sharp. We will have worship and a message before we head out on the trail. Lunch will be out of your own pack (your responsibility) at the trailhead.
This is a difficult hike for the White Mountains with many ups and downs, some steep, though Galehead Hut is actually 440 feet below Greenleaf Hut. The day begins with a 1.1 mile, 1,100 foot climb to the 5,260’ summit of Mt. Lafayette along the remainder of the Greenleaf Trail that should require about 1:05 by book time. From there, we traverse the entire rough Garfield Ridge Trail, part of the AT, with its many ups and downs. It passes near the summit of Mt. Garfield about halfway to Galehead Hut.
Be sure to arrive by 6:00 pm sharp for a warm dinner provided by the Cru at the hut and enjoy a bunk bed each night in the Hut.

This is a moderate hike for the White Mountains along the Twinway, part of the AT. It begins with a fairly steep climb to the summit of South Twin, a gain of 1,150 feet in 0.8 mile. There are excellent views from the summits of South Twin, Mt. Guyot, and Zeacliff, as well as other places along the route.
Be sure to arrive by 6:00 pm sharp for a warm dinner provided by the Cru at the hut and enjoy a bunk bed each night in the Hut.

This is an easy hike for the White Mountains along the A-Z and Avalon Trails, no longer on the AT. The A-Z trail ascends steadily and not steeply for 2.7 miles to near the summit of Mt. Tom. From there it descends one mile, rather steeply at times, to the Avalon Trail near the summit of Mt. Avalon. The Avalon Trail descends less steeply for another 1.2 miles to the Crawford Notch Depot at the Highlands Visitor Center.
Arriving at the Highlands Visitor Center, you will be able to use the bathroom and possibly purchase something from the shop there before driving back to the host church. We are welcome to stay the night in the host Church (on your air mattresses) or you are welcome to get a hotel on your own (a hotel and transportation to/from is your responsibility).
AM – A morning shuttle to the airport will be available.
We will stay at AMC Huts. Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC – outdoors.org) promotes the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the mountains, forests, waters, and trails of America’s Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. We will stay at three huts – remote lodges that were built beginning in 1888. The huts provide a delicious and hearty dinner at 6:00 p.m. and warm breakfast at 7:00 a.m. The huts are staffed by a small team of young people called the “Cru.” They trek in all supplies for the hut several miles on their backs.
