Zimbabwe is a landlocked agrarian (agricultural) country in South Central Africa covering about 90,000 square kilometers (56,000 sq mi). The population is about 16.67 million. Zimbabwe used to be the breadbasket of Africa but now has lost that position.
The economy is centered around subsistence farming and livestock farming. Droughts and a lack of economic opportunities have resulted in widespread poverty and migration out of the province. The village of Gwayi has lots of orphans and widows due to migration and the impact of diseases. Most of the living parents are either drunkards or drug addicts. There is a huge rise in teenage pregnancies and school dropouts.
After assessing the needs in the region, the Hut of Hope Trust embarked on creating programs to look after the orphans and widows in this hard-hit area. We lead Bible studies, youth leadership trainings, and teach life skills like gardening and poultry farming to the older teenagers. The Hut of Hope Trust also pays school fees for some kids. We believe every child and parent should receive support ideally for the best possible start in life, and for the Hut of Hope Trust to help where no parent(s) exist. We seek partnerships with parents and children through supporting and encouraging them through their early years of development.
“The Trust” is a registered charity organization founded in Zimbabwe and based in Matabeleland North, in a village called Gwayi. Our vision is to bring hope to the hopeless. We desire to run more youth leadership and empowerment programs; meeting the needs and helping kids to fit in the community, but we have limited resources to run these programs.
Such funds are game changers to the ministry and the lives of the less privileged. Funds from the tour will be catalysts in running youth leadership seminars and help with the food bank to feed the orphans and widows.

When you donate to an End Cycling tour, 90% of all donations goes directly toward impacting youth served by our beneficiary in this county, in Jesus’ name. The other 10% funds administrative costs for our parent organization, New International, a not-for-profit which, in all honesty, helps us do what we do even better. Tax deductible receipts and year end giving statements are provided to all donors. Read more about our financial transparency and accountability standards and practices.
