In 2022, Ends of the Earth Cycling celebrated our millionth dollar raised by hosting a Gala in Ft. Myers, FL. One of the people in attendance at our Gala was Stephen Raj Moses. This dear brother is such a gift to me, and his presence with us that night brings me to a testimony I’m excited to share with you.
I have known Stephen for over 11 years. I first met Stephen in India where he served alongside us on multiple mission projects. He was a translator and a co-laborer in our work with children and youth in villages and slums in and around the city of Chennai. Stephen grew up in India, and when we met him, we saw such a passion to reach young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our time together was always filled with laughter, joy, and sincere fellowship. In my 6 trips to India, I think I’ve worked with Stephen on every one, even traveling to Sri Lanka together to help train pastors. Ever since I met Stephen, I longed for the day that he might visit America and serve with us here. I didn’t have the vision for how that might happen, but my boss at the time, Aaron Arnold did. Aaron invited Stephen to live in Ft. Myers, FL on the CGO Campus for New International and Stephen served faithfully for a season with YouthHOPE, a ministry of New International. When I asked Stephen about his time with YouthHOPE, he said, “I was enriched by the Youth Ministry Leadership Training (YMLT) in Thailand, and traveling with Aaron to the Philippines. I also enjoyed traveling with Miguel to minister in the Dominican Republic.” He went on to say, “These were some of the life-changing moments I experienced with YouthHOPE.”
In as much as Stephen was stateside, he served with us on our Midwest Bike Ride 2014 in the state of Ohio. In May 2018, Stephen joined our Carolinas Bike Ride in North & South Carolina. These rides were for the youth of Thailand and Macedonia, respectively. In Summer 2019, Stephen even recruited his pastor, William Givens to come on our Georgia Bike Ride as our Tour Pastor, as we preached and pedaled at BRAG (www.brag.org). This Summer, Stephen came and served on our Utah Bike Ride for the youth of India. This ride benefited Metro Missions, which was started by the late Pastor Anand.
When Stephen was 17 years old, Anand loved him and introduced him to Jesus. Over the next 20 years, Stephen served faithfully with Metro Missions, which is now run by Pam, the wife of Anand. One night, during worship at our 2024 Utah Bike Ride, Stephen excitedly shared his testimony with us. It was during that moment, I realized how much of a move of God we were experiencing, just having Stephen as part of the Ends Cycling story. As I watched Stephen lead us in worship, I was so encouraged by his boldness. I was amazed at how far God has brought him and how He has gifted him to serve His Body.
Through all of these projects, both in the USA and India, I have observed Stephen to be a hard worker. He is humble and caring for all those he is serving. He is willing to do anything that needs to be done and seeks to do so with excellence. He doesn’t seek glory for himself. He lives his life poured out as an offering to the Lord Jesus Christ. Stephen is an inspiration to me. He lives his life – full send, and I’m thankful to call him brother, co-laborer and friend.
