Aloha! Ends of the Earth Cycling is pleased to announce an epic tour in our 50th state since the ministry began! Join us on the “Valley Isle” of Maui, the second largest island in HI, and one of the best places in the entire world to ride a bicycle! This tropical paradise is a mecca for outdoor activity, such as canoeing, surfing, snorkeling and of course, road cycling. We plan to ride through breathtaking scenery on coastal roads, through a tropical rainforest, to lava fields, and more!
October is a tad bit cooler on Maui, where the weather is almost always perfect. The primary challenge facing cyclists in Maui is the wind. Imagine the worst headwind you have ever pedaled in, and realize Maui experiences this almost daily, starting around 11am. This is largely due to the trade winds created by an island with East and West mountains. You can expect many of our routes to begin in the early morning (6:30am at the latest) because the sun is up and many of us will have our body-clocks 6 hours ahead (if coming from Eastern Standard Time). Finishing a 40 or 50-mile ride by 11am has its benefits. There will be snorkeling opportunities, fellowship around Shave Ice, beach trip(s) and even an optional service project.
This tour will pivot slightly from our usual Friday to Wednesday format. The Hawaii Bike Ride 2025 will feature our standard orientation on a Thursday, and the riding will take place Friday through Tuesday. We will transport people to OGG Airport on Wednesday to fly out, or to a nearby hotel or Airbnb should you decide to stay longer and enjoy Maui.
This will be a Wagon Wheel tour. Which means you don’t have to pack your stuff up every morning! Our host church, Valley Isle Fellowship, is strategically positioned in the center of Maui. This is ideal for all of our routes, plus they have a HUGE HEART for youth. As is our custom, each evening, we will invite the local church to join us for praise & worship, engaging testimonies, and prayer for youth in the Philippines. In addition, Valley Isle’s pastor, Nick Love, has invited us to share with their youth group, as well as having a few representatives from our group speak in the Sunday AM service about our cause! Praise God!
We recognize you may not want to fly with your bike – that’s why we hooked up with Krank Cycles to give you great rental options. They have 3 shops on the island and rent just about any type of bicycle you can imagine. The best way to book your rental is through their website: Krank Cycles | Premier Maui Bike Rental Company (krankmaui.com)
Finally, this ride is a CELEBRATION! In 2013, God gave Justin a vision for hosting Christ-centered cycling tours in all 50 States as well as raising $1M for youth ministries globally. Hawaii is slated to be our 50th state and we can’t think of a more amazing place to celebrate God’s goodness to us! Please pray about joining our Ends Cycling CREW on this thrilling 5 day ride through beautiful Maui. We’d love to have you ride or support this tour (support staff will be limited to 15 people).
