Ukraine is one of the biggest countries in Europe in terms of territory. Even though we lost some of it due to the Russian aggression and separatist movements, Ukraine is still counted as one of the largest with a comparatively small population of 42 million with around 650 universities and 1.5 million students.

University students are the generation at a crossroads. Their student years are the last chance to hear the Good News in a godly and non-competitive atmosphere before they dive into the mire of work routine where they often lack time for the important spiritual matters. After 70 years under the USSR, universities and students in this part of the world – for the most part – hold an atheistic worldview and faith in God has no part in their lives.

Since the fall of the USSR in 1992, CCX had our first student bible study group. We used this time and opportunity to be witnesses about God and share His will and divine plan for the students’ lives on campuses, at universities, and in the dormitories. We’ve helped more than 30,000 students within this timeframe to grow spiritually, professionally and intellectually through training, lectures, evangelistic events, on campus bible study groups, scholarships etc.

CCX Ukraine’s biggest dream and goal is to have at least 1 active bible study group in every university in Ukraine, thus we understand that without growth we physically cannot cover all of them. Our ministry requires workers, for the harvest is large. The workers need to be trained and well equipped in order to be able to organize and hold evangelism events and do other missionary work among students. That is where we see Ends of the Earth Cycling participants helping us.

Right now CCX Ukraine is engaged in training, discipling, and sharing the Gospel among the students of 6 cities (Lviv, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Cherkasy, Odesa), with 10 Bible study groups and more than 240 students in training, discipleship or attending our events during the academic year. It’s been a focus of recent years to reestablish the CCX ministry after heavy blows from war and pandemics – most of our prominent students migrated or left the country. But with God’s help and your partaking we believe this student ministry will not just survive but will thrive despite the odds.  

With your prayers, funds, and help we would like to train more workers, volunteers and students as a part of our leadership and evangelism training program. Our goal is to double in size – from 15 to 30 trained and equipped workers, from 150 active students to 300 within the next two years. Thank you for your prayers and support.
