The Philippines are an archipelago (island cluster) consisting of 7,100 islands with a total land area just 35% smaller than California. It has three major island groups: Luzon in the North, Visayas in the middle and Mindanao down South. The current population of the Philippines is about 117 million people. The country has a tropical climate with two distinct seasons: wet and dry.
The struggles of Filipino youth are many. Social and economic problems in the country and the materialistic world they live in expose youth to rape, incest, drug addiction, forced prostitution and child labor issues. Christian churches have no formal youth leadership training to build up the next generation of Christian leaders.
“Pasbert Youth Ministries” is dedicated to training youth leaders from different organizations, denominations and school campuses. We use the “Youth Ministry Leadership Training Manual” from YouthHOPE (a ministry of New International) to do this. In just over 5 years we have trained almost 900 Youth Leaders from different locations (all from different Christian Churches and denominations). These trained leaders have impacted thousands of youth around the Philippines in Jesus’ Name. This training curriculum has proven to be a fantastic way to train and equip Christian youth leaders to do ministry effectively and holistically.
This is where you come in. Our hope is to use the prayers and funds raised from this tour to help train more youth workers. Funds would go towards travel and cost of hosting more of these trainings. Will you help us meet this goal and #PrayPedalRepeat for the youth of the Philippines?
